The Neurodevelopment Assessment for ADHD program is designed to thoroughly evaluate individuals exhibiting potential ADHD symptoms, such as difficulties with concentration, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. These common challenges can significantly affect daily life, underscoring the importance of an accurate assessment and diagnosis. The program assesses cognitive, behavioral, and emotional functioning to determine if these symptoms meet ADHD criteria. An endorsed diagnosis by a Consultant Psychiatrist is essential, as it confirms the condition and informs effective treatment and support strategies. This comprehensive approach ensures individuals receive targeted interventions to manage their symptoms effectively, improving their overall quality of life and functional ability in various settings.
The initial appointment, conducted by a specialised clinician, involves building rapport, extensive history taking (covering mental health, physical, and family histories), and evaluating the individual's symptoms and their effects. The assessment includes ADHD-specific tools, like the Connors, to thoroughly evaluate ongoing difficulties and traits. Following this, a comprehensive report is created to support the assessment's formulation and findings, ensuring a complete understanding of the individual's presentation.
